About Natalie
Natalie has been interested in nature and complementary health since a small child and finally, after the birth her third child, she decided to delve further into the world of nutrition, keen to learn how to feed her family well to support good health and enrolled on a diploma in Nutritional Therapy at the Institute of Optimum Nutrition in London. She qualified in 2012 with a Diploma with Merit. A few years later, in 2017, she completed a “Nutrition in Practice” accreditation” at the Leiths School of Food and Wine where she learned about culinary innovations in the world of nutrition. Whilst she loved learning about how to heal the body with food, Herbal Medicine really captivated her.
In 2020, during lockdown, Natalie decided to formalise her interest in herbal medicine by accepting a position to study for a diploma in Medical Herbalism at the Betonica School of Herbal Medicine in Devon. She qualified in 2025 and was awarded a Diploma with Merit. During the course of her studies, she obtained a grounding in Botany, Anatomy and Physiology, Pathology, Phytochemistry, Pharmacology, Differential Diagnosis and Materia Medica, as well as attending more than 500 clinical hours to learn from real-life case studies. This course really fired her interest as it not only covered all the relevant science but also taught the students how to grow and make their own medicine, which Natalie loves doing.
Natalie was taught and practices Western Medical Herbalism which mostly uses herbs indigenous to the United Kingdom and Europe. She loves this as she can use local herbs, often ones she has grown or gathered herself, and apply them seasonally. However, a select number of herbs from other continents are now generally included in Western Herbalism that cannot be sourced from this part of the world, including some traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic herbs.
Natalie is a member of a number of professional bodies including The National Institute of Medical Herbalists (NIMH), The British Association of Nutritional Therapist (BANT) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). This means she adheres to these bodies’ high standards of personal and professional integrity, codes of conduct, ethics and practice.
Natalie has been working at Botanical Boutique, a herbal and nutritional consultancy in St Margaret’s since 2023. In her spare time, she loves to work on her herb garden, using her produce to create herbal tinctures, creams and tea blends. She is fortunate to live close to some beautiful green spaces that inspire her – Richmond Park, the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew and Chelsea Physic Garden.
